Serious crimes related to corruption and conflict of interest among assistant governors have been identified in the Samarkand region. This was announced at the next meeting of the regional Anti-Corruption Council in the region.
According to official data, more than 3,300 cases of corruption and conflict of interest were identified during the first quarter of this year. The majority of such cases were related to forgeries and additions to reports. It was reported that more than 3 billion soums in subsidies, loans and benefits were embezzled from the state budget through such forgeries.
It was noted that disciplinary, administrative and criminal cases were initiated against more than 80 assistant governors and other responsible persons for corruption-related offenses. 19 of them were brought to criminal responsibility for committing serious crimes.
The largest number of crimes was found to have been committed in the city of Samarkand, as well as in the Urgut, Ishtikhan and Akdarya districts. Unfortunately, the lack of timely service checks on criminal cases by local government departments and employment agencies has further worsened the situation.
In addition, it was revealed that employees of employment agencies in the region have also committed violations. In particular, 155 citizens who were employed or self-employed through the "Single National Labor System" electronic platform were unjustifiably allocated subsidies of up to 30 times the basic calculation amount. Such cases were observed mainly in the city of Kattakurgan, Kattakurgan, Nurabad, Narpay, Jamboy, Akdarya, Bulungur, Samarkand and Payarik districts.
It is also noted that 12 assistants of the mayor and employees of employment agencies, as well as 25 assistants of the mayor, opened and managed their own businesses, which led to a conflict of interest.
As the chairman of the regional council Sh. Negmatov noted at the meeting, serious tasks have been set for the officials in order to promptly eliminate the identified violations and completely put an end to any corruption-related relations in the future. According to him, systematic work will be carried out to prevent such negative situations, and these processes will be strictly monitored.
These events, in addition to attracting the attention of the general public, once again demonstrate how serious and uncompromising the fight against corruption is in our country. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
