Gulistan City Prosecutor’s Deputy Arrested for Corruption

The deputy prosecutor of Gulistan city in Syrdarya region has been arrested on corruption charges. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, the official abused his authority by demanding a $10,000 bribe from the head of an LLC operating in the agricultural sector in Bayavut district. In return, he promised not to apply pretrial detention within the framework of a criminal case initiated under Articles 168 and 167 of the Criminal Code, and to resolve the case in favor of the suspect.

During a special operation conducted by State Security officers, the official was caught red-handed in his office while accepting the requested bribe.

A criminal case has been initiated against the deputy prosecutor under Articles 168 and 28,211 of the Criminal Code. He has been taken into custody, and investigative procedures are underway. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
