In pursuit of quick profit, a citizen who broke the law was detained in Tashkent by the State Security Service and customs authorities. He intended to illegally store and distribute potent "Zardex" medications.
The operation was carried out by special services in the Yangihayot district, reported dxx.
It was established that this individual, residing in the city of Ohangaron, was storing 16,249 units of a drug called "Zardex" in his rented home. These were seized as material evidence.
The "Zardex" drug contains a potent substance known as Pregabalin. This substance was included in the list of controlled chemical substances by Cabinet Resolution No. 818 of 2019.
Reportedly, he obtained the drugs from another individual he contacted via messenger. The drugs were left in a secret location in the Sergeli district.
The citizen was supposed to pay $16,000 to a person involved in drug trafficking after picking up and selling the "goods."
It was revealed that he had not previously been involved in such activities. However, this time, his actions led to legal accountability.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 251-1, Part 5 of the Criminal Code. Detention has been chosen as a preventive measure.
Investigative procedures are ongoing. The matter is under the control of law enforcement agencies.
According to analysts, this case clearly demonstrates the growing spread of so-called “silent drugs” among youth.
Pregabalin is typically used to treat nervous system disorders. However, when consumed in excessive amounts, it can cause severe mental changes and even hallucinations.
It has been noted that in recent years, many young people have been hospitalized with serious complications due to uncontrolled intake of this substance.
Such drugs, which are not legally available in pharmacies, are being distributed through various Telegram groups and channels.
Experts emphasize that to eliminate this criminal chain, public awareness must be raised, and such situations must be met with zero tolerance.
Some analysts say that Pregabalin users may develop physical dependence, making it an even more dangerous substance.
The government is taking several steps to restrict the circulation of these substances. However, the threat still exists.
Therefore, the population, especially youth and their parents, must be conscious and vigilant.
Those engaged in illegal trade are harming not only themselves but society as a whole. This must not be forgotten.
The law is equal for all. Whether someone works at a pharmacy or sells drugs from a rented house — punishment is inevitable.
So far, investigative actions concerning the detained individual are ongoing. If it turns out that others were involved in his activities, they too will be held accountable.
Analysts stress the need for such operations to be conducted regularly. The illegal drug trade is a complex and dangerous process.
In some cases, these substances are even distributed among school-aged children.
To prevent this, parents, educational institutions, and community organizations must work together.
The goal is to protect health and steer young people away from such dangerous influences. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
