In Namangan region, a 70-year-old driver lost his Chevrolet Gentra after accumulating 82 unpaid traffic fines. The regional branch of the Enforcement Bureau reported the incident on July 18.
The majority of the offenses were related to illegal parking and disregarding traffic signs. The total debt reached a significant amount, prompting enforcement actions.
When faced with vehicle confiscation, the driver attempted to hide the car, moving it to an obscure location. This was considered an attempt to evade administrative enforcement.
Despite this, enforcement officers successfully located the vehicle and towed it to an impound lot. It will remain there until all fines and related costs are fully paid.
The incident highlights the effectiveness of Uzbekistan's "Safe City" traffic monitoring system, which makes avoiding penalties increasingly difficult. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
