Fire in Surkhan State Reserve is being quickly contained

On July 23, a dry fire broke out in the Surkhan State Reserve in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region. The fire, which covered an area of about 5 hectares, was quickly contained, but the extinguishing work is still ongoing.

Rescuers and auxiliary organizations arrived at the scene in time and began extinguishing the fire. The existing vegetation and dry grass in the reserve itself quickly caught fire under the influence of high air temperatures and light winds.

Energy services also came to the rescue and provided the necessary means for them. Efforts were made to quickly extinguish the burning grass. According to the instructions of the rescuers, sufficient forces and means were involved to contain the fire.

Despite the difficult conditions in the area, special equipment and meteorological services played an important role in providing the necessary information and monitoring the spread of the fire. Rescuers managed to contain the highly dangerous burning vegetation and dryland fires within 3 hours.

A full investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the tragedy. Every section of the reserve must be restored and brought back into operation.

Various alternative routes are being developed to prevent further recurrence of the damaged areas and burned areas. Separate plans have been developed to restore the roads and southern slopes.
