In Tashkent region, a disturbing situation not only claimed the life of a child, but also once again brought the issue of medical responsibility in society to the agenda. This was reported by Zarif Mirzahmedov, head of the Tashkent regional branch of the “Ezgulik” Human Rights Society.
According to the report, on July 26, 2025, a 9-month-old baby died in a medical facility located in the Parkent district. The event happened within a few hours, but the child’s parents believe that the tragic outcome was caused by the negligence and irresponsible behavior of the doctors.
According to the parents, the baby suddenly felt unwell, and they immediately brought him to the hospital. They demanded an urgent medical examination.
However, the doctors did not pay enough attention to the baby's condition, did not take it seriously, and took no immediate action. Even the worsening condition was not properly assessed.
As a result, the baby passed away a few hours later. The parents blame medical negligence for this outcome.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened by the Tashkent regional prosecutor’s office regarding this incident. The case is being fully investigated.
Investigative authorities are thoroughly examining all the factors that led to the child’s death. In particular, the possibility that medical professionals failed to perform their duties properly or made an error in the hospital is being considered.
If negligence or irresponsibility by the doctors is confirmed, they may be held criminally liable under Articles 116 (Failure to properly perform professional duties) and 117 (Leaving a person in danger) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Before the law, everyone is equal. Obviously, human life, especially that of a child, is the highest value. To preserve this life, medical workers must always be vigilant and responsible.
This incident has once again raised the issue of trust in our medical system. A situation that deprived parents of peace and brought tragedy to a family must not go unanswered.
Until now, medicine has been a source of trust for many. But unfortunately, such cases, due to the irresponsibility of some doctors, risk tarnishing the reputation of the entire system.
As a result of this tragedy, the parents lost a child who cannot be replaced in their hearts. They demand justice.
Medicine should be a field that fights for human life, preserves it, ensures stability. But those who failed in their duties due to negligence must be punished.
Every doctor is responsible for a human being’s fate. This truth must not be ignored.
This incident is not only a legal matter, but also a moral lesson. One child’s life was lost irreversibly, and now the law must speak.
