In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Tashkent region, individuals engaged in the illegal trade of potent medicines that seriously endanger human health and affect the psyche have been detained by law enforcement officers. This was reported by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office and partner law enforcement agencies.
According to the information, during an operational event conducted by the Muynak district branch of the Department in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, a criminal was detained. A person named J.B. was caught selling 140 capsules of the potent psychotropic drug “MOLECULE PLUS” to citizen A.R. for 1.4 million soums. From him, as material evidence, a total of 886 potent medicines of six types, prepared for sale, were seized.
Similarly, in another operational event conducted by the Nurafshon city branch of the Department together with the Internal Affairs Department staff, a “Matiz” brand passenger car driven by citizen J.I. was stopped. From its trunk, 10 white-and-red capsules of medicine were found and seized as material evidence.
The operation then continued in sequence in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent city. There, citizen M.M., who had delivered illegal medicines to J.I. for 900 thousand soums, was detained. From him, 10 white-and-red capsules of medicine, 5 units of a drug named “Karbalex,” and 900 thousand soums in cash were seized as material evidence.
According to official data, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code regarding these incidents. This article covers acts such as the illegal circulation, distribution, or advertising of substances that are not classified as narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances but have a strong impact on human health. At present, investigative actions are being carried out against the accused.
Experts emphasize that the illegal circulation of such drugs poses a serious threat not only to the health of the buyer but also to public safety at large. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen awareness-raising activities among the population, especially among the youth, about the dangers of such substances.
Observers and the public expect that such cases will be prevented, offenders will be punished in accordance with the law, and measures to protect citizens' health will be strengthened.
