In Zangiata, the chief specialist was detained for receiving $20,000

The chief specialist of the Zangiata District Department of Agriculture of the Tashkent region has been detained, the State Security Service reported.

It was reported that he demanded $40,000 in exchange for registering an 8 sotix land plot in the state reserve, located next to the house belonging to a local citizen, in his name through a working group formed by the district administration to engage in entrepreneurial activity.

When the official received $20,000 of this money, the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes stopped his illegal actions, the report says.

A criminal case was initiated against the chief specialist under clause "a" of part 4 of Article 168 (fraud on an especially large scale) and clause "a" of part 3 of Article 28,211 (bribery on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of imprisonment was applied. Investigative actions are underway.
