A shocking crime in Tashkent’s Sergeli district has been confirmed by the General Prosecutor’s Office, where a woman stabbed and killed her 7-year-old daughter. QALAMPIR.UZ reached out to the Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Hayot Shamsutdinov for clarification.
According to official reports, on September 8, 32-year-old Z.T., a resident of Sergeli, acted irrationally, grabbed a kitchen knife, and inflicted fatal injuries on her daughter Z.A., born in 2018. The girl died at the scene from her wounds.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 97, Part 1 of the Criminal Code for intentional murder. The mother was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and an investigation is ongoing.
This is not her first violent incident involving her daughter. On January 28, 2022, she threw the same child into a bear cage at the Tashkent Zoo. Fortunately, the bear did not harm the girl. She was charged under Articles 25 and 97 of the Criminal Code.
Prosecutors later revealed she had been registered at a psychiatric clinic since July 2021. The Family and Women’s Support Department also reported she was a university lecturer and going through a divorce at the time.
