The Conflict Involving Firearms in Fergana Causes Public Concern

An incident in the Rishtan district of Fergana has sparked widespread public discussion. According to information circulating on social media, internal affairs officers applied pressure to a farmer and there was a report of the use of firearms.

It is reported that on July 7, when the head of the "Bulaqboshi Gulshani" farm, Gayratjon Khayrullayev, was at home, three police officers came to his house. They tried to apply harsh measures, citing that the grain delivery plan was not fulfilled.

According to the farmer, one of the officers drew his weapon and attempted to intimidate him. When his 70-year-old mother intervened, she was pushed away and lost consciousness, later being hospitalized.

Additionally, another farmer, Azizbek Tojiboev, reported that he might face administrative punishment for not handing over equipment as ordered by the local authorities.

Rishtan district head Bahodir Khaliqov commented on the incident, stating that the police officers came only to provide explanations and warnings, and there were no instances of weapon use or force.

According to the law, farmers and entrepreneurs are guaranteed the freedom to operate, and any illegal actions such as pressure or violence are strictly prohibited.

Currently, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ombudsman’s Office are investigating the case. Responsible authorities will provide further information to the public once the investigation concludes.
