It was revealed that 18 trees were illegally cut down in Andijan, UPL.uz reported.

According to the press service of the Andijan Region Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, an investigation was conducted after reports of 30-year-old trees being cut down in Izboskan district spread on social networks.

A special working group was set up for the investigation, and it was determined that the incident occurred in the Mirzo Ulugbek neighborhood, on Shifokorlar street in Izboskan district. There, 18 trees belonging to the catalpa species were found to have been illegally cut down.

An official report was drawn up against the citizen under Part 1 of the "Illegal cutting of trees and bushes" article of the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. A fine of 10,300,000 soums was imposed.

According to the ministry, the exact amount of material damage caused to the environment by this illegal action has not yet been determined.
