In Fergana, a citizen who poured blood into a ditch was fined.

In the city of Fergana, an incident related to environmental pollution caused strong public outrage. Videos showing blood being poured into a neighborhood ditch quickly spread on social networks and became the subject of public discussion. According to official sources, the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Fergana region issued an official statement on the incident.

It was reported that the incident occurred in the Joydam neighborhood of Fergana city, on Yakkatot Street. State inspectors of the city department of the regional ecology administration went to the site and conducted an investigation. During the inspection, it was discovered that a resident, citizen M.M., had been discharging liquid household waste from his home into the ditch within the neighborhood.

Ecologists assessed this act as water pollution and a violation of sanitary standards. This not only creates discomfort for residents but can also cause serious harm to the environment. Since blood and other biological waste spread quickly through water, it increases the risk of infection.

As a result of the investigation, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the citizen under Article 72, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. This article provides for liability for violating water protection regulations. Consequently, citizen M.M. was fined 1,236,000 soums.

According to the department, in order to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, explanatory and preventive discussions were held with the citizen on water protection, cleanliness, and environmental safety.

“Protecting the environment is the duty of every citizen. Indifference to nature is not only a violation of the law but also a threat to the health of future generations,” the department’s statement said.

Ecologists noted that recently there has been an increase in cases where local residents throw household waste into ditches or waterways. Such actions negatively affect water quality and can lead to the spread of infectious diseases. Therefore, it is planned to strengthen penalties for such violations.
