A convict escaping from a penal colony attacked a minor girl

Reports circulated on social media that a convict who escaped from colony No. 50 in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region committed a crime against a minor.

According to the information, the 31-year-old convict left the address on October 16, when he was involved in labor activities at the "P.B." enterprise, without informing anyone. Later, reports emerged that he had sexually assaulted a 3rd-grade girl.

According to information released by the Operational-Investigative Service of the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the individual was convicted in 2018 under Article 118, Part 4 of the Criminal Code - rape of a person under 14 years of age. His sentence was set until 2033, and in August 2024, he was transferred to a settlement colony to serve the remainder of his sentence.

According to the press secretary of the Main Department of Internal Affairs, a new criminal case has been initiated against this person. He was charged under Article 119, Part 4 of the Criminal Code - "forcible satisfaction of sexual needs in an unnatural way."

It turned out that the perpetrator was caught in the field with the help of local residents. Law enforcement officers detained him in procedural order, and a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied. An investigation is currently underway.

The internal affairs bodies are working to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. At the same time, official information about the condition of the girl who became a victim of the crime has not yet been released.
