7- and 9-year-old girls were abused in Samarkand

An investigation has been launched into an incident involving violence against two underage girls in Toyloq district of Samarkand region, the Children’s Ombudsman said.
According to the report, on April 21 this year, a resident of Toyloq district, M.S., in an attempt to demand money from the girls’ mother, D.M., who is currently abroad, exerted pressure on two underage girls under his temporary guardianship — B.D. (born in 2019) and B.M. (born in 2017). He carried out acts of physical and psychological violence against the children and recorded these incidents on video.
The regional representative of the Children’s Ombudsman for Samarkand region went to the scene, examined the situation and took the necessary urgent measures to protect the children.
At present, a pre-investigation inquiry is being conducted by the district police department in connection with this case. In addition, district guardianship authorities — the “Inson” center — have stripped M.S. of guardianship rights.
A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the severity of the injuries inflicted on the children.
At the initiative of the regional representative of the Children’s Ombudsman, a psychologist has been brought in to help stabilize the emotional state of the underage girls.
At the same time, the girls have been placed in a family-type children’s home in the district and officially attached to a school and a preschool institution near their place of residence. In this way, their right to live and study in a safe family environment has been ensured.
It is noted that the extent to which the children’s mother, who is abroad, is fulfilling her parental responsibilities is also being examined.
