A court ruling has been issued regarding a resonant incident that occurred in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent this spring. A young man and woman, who ran away from a traffic police officer and hit several cars, have been prosecuted, according to the Millar program.
According to the information, the criminal case was considered in the Chilanzar District Court under the chairmanship of Judge Abbosjon Abdugaffarov. According to court documents, the young man and woman in the Gentra car at the time of the incident were under the influence of drugs, but they denied it.
According to the investigation, the car was driven by a girl without a driver's license, and the car was registered under the name of the young man's father. They removed the license plate and drove the car in this state. When the traffic patrol officer signaled them to stop, they disobeyed the order and continued to flee along the way.
During the escape, the Gentra hit five other vehicles and only stopped after the accident. In her statement in court, the girl said: "When we were driving, a traffic police officer signaled us to stop. We didn't stop because the car had no license plate. Then the pursuit began, I ran away, and an accident occurred. Let no one repeat my mistake."
As a result of the accident, several cars were damaged, but the damage caused to their owners was later fully compensated.
After reviewing the cases, the Chilanzar District Court found the young man and woman guilty under Article 277, Part 3, Clause "g" (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the court's verdict, the young man was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment with partial addition of the punishment imposed by the previous sentence. The girl was sentenced to 4 years of restricted freedom.
As a reminder, this incident involving a black Gentra occurred on the morning of April 19, 2025. Avoiding traffic police and posing a danger to other drivers on the road caused significant public discussion.
This court verdict, as experts note, once again demonstrated the inevitability of punishment for intentional violations of traffic rules and non-compliance with the requirements of state bodies.
