In the Surkhandarya region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, individuals attempting to illegally sell land plots were detained. During operational activities conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, instances of these violations were identified.
A resident of the Bandikhan district of Surkhandarya region, born in 1987, promised a person who wanted to engage in animal husbandry to register 3.5 hectares of land in the reserve of the district administration through his acquaintances and demanded 1.5 billion soums in return. He was detained while receiving 110,000 US dollars and 100 million soums of the requested funds.
In the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, a person born in 1983 gained the trust of an entrepreneur and claimed that 169 hectares of land previously allocated to another citizen belonged to him. He said that he would sell 50 hectares of land for $1,000 per hectare, a total of $50,000, and was caught while receiving the money.
A criminal case has been initiated against both individuals under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
