In Tashkent, a woman who attacked a driver with a hammer was sentenced by the court to one and a half years of imprisonment, according to court sources.
The incident occurred in April in the Yunusabad district and caused a wide reaction on social media. According to reports, after a minor traffic accident between a Spark and a Matiz, the female driver became angry and attacked the Matiz driver with a hammer.
The video footage shows her getting out of her car, breaking the other car’s windows, and striking the victim on the head several times. As a result, the injured man was hospitalized with a diagnosis of mild concussion.
During the court proceedings, both parties accused each other of provoking the conflict. The woman explained that she acted in self-defense and confirmed that she used a metal hammer.
According to the verdict of the Supreme Court, she was found guilty under Article 277 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) and sentenced to one year and six months of imprisonment. In addition, the court ordered her to pay the victim 5 million 300 thousand soums in compensation.
