In the city of Tashkent, a man stole someone else’s car, the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital reported.
According to the information, he committed the act because he had run out of money and decided to steal something to make a living. Taking advantage of the fact that the car door was unlocked and the key was left in the ignition, he drove away.
After reaching the Bektemir district near Chirchik, he took two monitors, a video recorder, a flashlight, and a bag from the vehicle’s interior. He then abandoned the car and fled the scene.
“I deeply regret what I did. I advise no one to do the same. This is not a good path — I didn’t understand the consequences,” the suspect said.
It was revealed that he had previously been convicted. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 267, Part 2, Paragraph “g” of the Criminal Code (vehicle theft), and he has been taken into custody as a preventive measure.
The investigation is ongoing.
