Tax officer in Angren caught taking bribe from farmer

According to the State Security Service's press release, a tax inspection officer has been detained. The SSS officers, in cooperation with employees from the regional department of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, conducted a special operative event.
During the event, a tax inspection officer responsible for on-site inspections in Ohangaron district was caught while receiving a bribe of 5,000 US dollars. It was revealed that in exchange for this amount, the suspect promised the head of a farming enterprise operating in Angren a positive conclusion on a special tax inspection and that the tax authorities would not interfere in the enterprise's activities for one year.
A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of the “Bribery” article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding this incident. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
