In October of this year, the Department of Internal Affairs received a complaint regarding the theft of polyethylene bags from a field belonging to a horticultural farm located in the Khavast district of the Syrdarya region. Based on this appeal, two senior officers of the Operational-Investigative Department of the Department of Internal Affairs in the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel and Major began an investigation.
Four citizens suspected of theft were forcibly taken to the Department of Internal Affairs and threatened with imprisonment. In exchange for the suspension of the investigation, that is, for the suppression of the case, they were initially asked for 55 million soums. The State Security Service provided official information about this.
Soon after, the investigators themselves received 24 million soums under the pretext of "compensating for the damage." Later, they demanded an additional 11 million soums in exchange for not opening a criminal case, not applying a detention measure, and processing documents only within the framework of administrative responsibility and sending them to the court.
During an operative event conducted by the Syrdarya Regional Department of the State Security Service, the prosecutor's office, and the Department of Personal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, these senior operatives were caught receiving a bribe of 11 million soums. They were detained and a case was initiated under Article 210, Part 2, Clauses "v" and "g" of the Criminal Code.
