In the capital, a "knife thief" was caught stealing 90 million

A person who stole more than 90 million soums from abandoned cars has been detained in the Bektemir district of the capital. This was officially reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent.

It is reported that the suspect noticed a Nexia-2 car parked near the Kuylyuk farmers market. With the help of scissors, he easily opened the car door and rummaged first in the cabin, then in the trunk. He took control of more than 76 million soums and quietly disappeared from the scene.

The suspect himself admits his actions and says:

"While I was observing the surroundings, I saw a person unloading money from the car. When he left, I found out that there was no one there, and the alarm wasn't installed. When the opportunity arose, I took the money from the black bag."

But he didn't stop there. Soon after, he returned to the same area and this time saw a Cobalt car with its doors left open. The driver noticed that he was engaged in a pleasant conversation on the phone and, taking advantage of this situation, took 17 million soums from the cabin and disappeared again.

"The owner who spoke on the phone did not lock the car. Seeing this, I took the money from the salon. I deeply regret what I did," he commented.

However, he was detained by operatives when he returned to the Bektemir district with the intention of continuing his actions. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of detention has been applied. The investigation is currently ongoing.
