$1.4 billion "golden flight" found in Damascus revealed

In Fergana, the illegal circulation of jewelry of large value was stopped. According to the customs service, a Damas vehicle moving along the “Vodil–Oltiariq” route was stopped in the Oltiariq district during monitoring, and a violation was detected.

During the inspection, three packages placed in almost every part of the vehicle interior were found. These bundles, brought in without any documents, belonged to a citizen traveling as a passenger.

Examinations showed that these were 127 pieces of jewelry of five types, weighing 1 kilogram 332 grams, with a preliminary estimated total value of 1 billion 440 million soums.

Each ring, earring, and ornament had been brought into the country without any customs processing. Pre-investigation inspections are currently being conducted regarding this case.
