
The animated film “Zootopia 2,” which has sparked major buzz worldwide, has also delivered an unprecedented result in Uzbekistan’s cinemas. The movie became the outright box-office leader among both local and international animated titles.
According to reports, “Zootopia 2” crossed the key milestone of 10 billion soums during four weeks in release. In exact figures, the film attracted 43,992 viewers and generated 10,600,407,350 soums—about USD 880,000. This is being recorded as a standalone record in the history of Uzbekistan’s animation box office.
The film’s daily performance remains consistently strong. For instance, last Saturday alone, 1,693 fans visited cinemas to watch “Zootopia 2.” On the same day, box-office revenue totaled 93,254,500 soums, or roughly USD 7,700.
It is noted that the film was screened in a total of 13 cinemas across the country. Eight of them are located in Tashkent, while the others operated in Andijan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, and Jizzakh. This indicates that “Zootopia 2” has generated strong interest not only in the capital but also in the regions.
Experts say the film’s success is driven by an engaging storyline, high-quality dubbing, and content suitable for all age groups. “Zootopia 2” is expected to maintain its leading position in Uzbekistan’s box office for some time.
