New details have emerged from a wide-ranging interview given by Presidential Administration Head Saida Mirziyoyeva to the “Alter Ego” project. In a conversation with Kirill Altman, she discussed the principles Shavkat Mirziyoyev relies on in public administration, his working style, as well as personal aspects related to his professional career and family upbringing. This was reported by upl.uzreports.
The interview’s main focus was the strategy for implementing reforms. According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, major results cannot be achieved through pressure or tension alone: over the past nine years, large-scale changes in the country have delivered results thanks to flexibility in the political course and the leadership’s prudent decisions.
The Administration head highlighted a rare trait of the president: he knows how to patiently wait for the right moment, yet he does not lower demands for execution discipline and quality. Saida Mirziyoyeva explained this by noting that Shavkat Mirziyoyev knows the state system from the inside at every level—having risen from district hokim to head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
On the topic of family upbringing, it was noted that the president’s children were not kept apart from their father’s working life. Recalling her childhood, Saida Mirziyoyeva said that she and her sister accompanied their father on business trips to the Mirzo Ulugbek district and the Jizzakh region.
In her view, a person is shaped not only by a prestigious school or mentors, but above all by the personal example of parents. Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that her father’s outlook on life and diligence played a decisive role in her development.
Speaking about the president’s tireless energy, Saida Mirziyoyeva admitted that the question makes even those close to him wonder. She said that even when the team is exhausted, Shavkat Mirziyoyev keeps working, explaining it solely by love for the Motherland.
The Administration head described such work capacity, in a sense, as a “metaphysical” state and reflected on destiny and the talent granted to each person. She also explained that fulfilling life tasks affects one’s psychological state as well, comparing it to KPI (key performance indicators).
Comparing herself in January 2026 with who she was ten years earlier, Saida Mirziyoyeva said the internal change had been significant. She noted that her most important gain was moving from haste to composure and tolerance; as responsibility grew, she began to view processes on a broader scale.
At the same time, she specifically noted that she does not seek power for power’s sake. According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, her main goal is to help realize her father’s dreams, which are inseparably linked to the well-being of the people of Uzbekistan.
Speaking about personal qualities, the Administration head described herself as someone who had aspired to leadership since childhood. She said her opinion was always respected in the family, and called her parents’ relationship an “ideal balance” combining her father’s firmness and her mother’s strong charisma.
Professionally, Saida Mirziyoyeva cited as a strength her ability to build an effective team and rely on intuition when selecting personnel. As a weakness, she pointed to unusually high self-demands, which, she said, lead to constant inner control and strict self-restraint.
At the end of the conversation, the topic of “palace intrigues” was also raised. Saida Mirziyoyeva described such situations as a natural process found in any center of power, adding that working in such an environment requires determination and administrative wisdom.
The interview also mentioned the Presidential Administration building where Saida Mirziyoyeva works. Located in Tashkent’s historic center, it is popularly known as “Oqsaroy”; the term “white palace” has been cited since the era of Amir Temur as a symbol of purity of intent and justice.
