Uchtepa District Hokimiyat employee caught with $3,000

Illegal actions by a representative of the Uchtepa District hokimiyat of Tashkent have been stopped, the State Security Service reports.
A chief specialist of the hokimiyat’s Housing and коммунal services and landscaping department was detained with material evidence while unlawfully receiving $3,000 from an entrepreneur.
He claimed that a list was allegedly being compiled of shops and other sites to be demolished in the district in 2026, and demanded money in exchange for using close ties with senior officials at the district hokimiyat to keep the entrepreneur’s shop off the list and prevent demolition.
A criminal case has been opened against the chief specialist under Article 168, Part 3, Clause “v” of the Criminal Code (fraud using an official position) and Articles 28 and 211, Part 1 (bribery), and a pre-trial detention measure has been applied. Investigative actions are currently underway.
