Hundreds of Damas and Labos detained after Damas escapes after beating 15-year-old boy in Bukhara
In Bukhara region, after a car hit a 15-year-old child and the driver fled the scene, hundreds of Damas and Labo vehicles were temporarily stopped for inspection.
Regarding reports of unregistered vehicles in Shofirkon district, the Bukhara Department of Internal Affairs issued an official statement.
It became known that on January 7, 2026, at 14:12, a doctor at the Shofirkon district hospital reported a road traffic accident. As a result, a minor citizen M.T., born in 2011, was taken to a medical facility with various bodily injuries.
During the investigation, it was established that the child was riding a bicycle when he collided with a white Damas car, whose driver did not provide first aid and fled the scene.
To solve the crime and identify the suspect driver and vehicle, operational and procedural measures were carried out.
Additionally, Damas and Labo vehicles moving in the Shofirkon district were checked. These vehicles were temporarily stopped for inspection, examined according to the law, no violations were found, and they were immediately returned to their owners. Drivers were given preventive explanations.
As of 00:00 on January 9, 2026, expert-criminalistic investigations identified the suspect in the accident — B.U., born in Gijduvan district. He admitted his guilt, and his vehicle was also found. Currently, all procedural actions are being taken within the framework of current legislation.
Reports on social networks claiming that drivers were allegedly stopped for transporting sick citizens or visiting elderly parents were officially unconfirmed, and no complaints were filed with law enforcement agencies.
The Bukhara Department of Internal Affairs emphasized that all measures were carried out to ensure public safety, solve the crime, and uphold the rule of law.
