At the meeting dedicated to the comprehensive development of Surkhandarya region, specific tasks were defined on a number of important issues for the region. Official reports were also published that priority areas were discussed during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the region.
One of the most pressing topics at the meeting was the situation related to the accident at the Baysun gas field. It is noted that a solution to this complex problem has been found. Of particular importance is the development, together with partners, of a scientific solution to the technological difficulties of the large gas processing complex "25th Anniversary of Independence." In this regard, the head of state noted that along with stopping the accident, new projects will be launched that will give a powerful impetus to the economy of Surkhandarya.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the transport sector. In particular, the establishment of new flights on the Termez - Istanbul and Termez - Dubai routes may further expand the region's connection with the outside world. This opens up new opportunities not only for convenience for passengers, but also for tourism, trade, and business contacts.
Important decisions were also made on the issue of internal action. The fact that about 100 thousand people from Shurchi, Denau, Sariosiyo, Sherabad, and Baysun commute to the regional center by cars every day creates a huge burden. In this regard, it was instructed to deploy the 125 buses brought to Surkhandarya primarily on these high-traffic routes. It is expected that this decision will help reduce traffic congestion, create conveniences for the population, and increase the efficiency of public transport.
Tasks related to social infrastructure were not overlooked. By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the project to provide centralized drinking water to 56 thousand residents of the Muzrabat district for the first time. Furthermore, the launch of new projects to lay a sewage network to the centers of Muzrabot, Oltinsoy, Angor, Qiziriq, and Boysun may have a serious positive impact on the quality of life in the regions.
In short, this meeting became not just another discussion for Surkhandarya, but a program of concrete solutions, new initiatives, and major changes. Eliminating the problem related to the gas field in Boysun, opening new flights, increasing bus traffic, accelerating water supply and sewerage projects - all this can mark a new stage in the economic and social life of the region.
