Uzbek girl falls from fourth floor in Turkey, dies in hospital

A tragic incident occurred in Izmir, Turkey: 22-year-old Uzbek woman Sevdora Hakimjonova fell from the fourth floor of a building and died in hospital. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
Hakimjonova was admitted to the hospital on March 17 in serious condition and treated for five days. Despite medical interventions, it was impossible to save her life.
The Consulate General and the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan are carrying out necessary arrangements to return the body to her homeland. The body will be sent to Uzbekistan on March 23 via the Istanbul—Andijan flight.
Hakimjonova was married under Islamic law to a Turkish citizen. The wedding ceremony was held in Chust district, Namangan region, but an official state marriage was not registered. The family lived in Izmir with the groom’s close relatives. It should be noted that her husband also had hearing and speech impairments like Sevdora.
Turkish law enforcement authorities have launched a criminal case regarding this incident. Investigative actions are ongoing, and all details of the event are being clarified.
