In the Bostanliq district of Tashkent region, persons who committed cruelty against cats were identified and detained. This incident caused significant public outrage and discontent. The press secretary of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent region, Bobur Tolaganov, reported this.
According to him, by court decision, 33-year-old M.Sh. was assigned 15 days of administrative arrest under Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Cruelty to animals), and 30-year-old A.A. was assigned 10 days of administrative arrest under Article 220-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Illegal handling of weapons).
For information, even after administrative punishment, if such coarse actions are repeated, the persons will face criminal liability. This incident further increased public discontent regarding cruelty to animals.
