In Tashkent, those who drove a car over dogs have been brought to court

In Tashkent, in the Uchtepa district, two individuals were brought to court for driving a car over dogs. This was reported by the press service of the city’s IIBB.
A video circulated on social networks showed two citizens driving over puppies in their cars, causing various debates. According to official information, around 23:00 on April 5, in one of the markets in Uchtepa district, working as guards, T.M., born in 1997, and M.D., born in 1996, drove over dogs with their vehicles.
Regarding the incident, Uchtepa district IIO FMB issued an administrative report under Article 111 of the Administrative Liability Code (cruelty to animals). The documents were sent to the district court, and the guilty parties may face a fine of 3–5 times the BHM (from 1,236,000 to 2,060,000 soums).
Additionally, on April 4, the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan announced that a separate law project on cruelty to animals is being prepared. The project proposes to strengthen criminal liability, increase fines up to 200 times the base amount (82,400,000 soums), or impose up to one year of imprisonment.
Previously, it was also reported that in Bostanliq district of Tashkent region, persons who were cruel to kittens were imprisoned for 15 and 10 days. Videos showed them mercilessly kicking, shooting, and hanging kittens, which sparked public discussion.
