Snow fell in April: the expected situation in mountainous regions

Some mountainous regions of Uzbekistan have been experiencing weather that seems unusual for mid-April. On April 7, during a rainstorm in the mountainous villages of Gelon and Maidanak in Kashkadarya region, the air cooled sharply, and the precipitation turned into snow. A similar situation was also noted in the mountainous regions of Zamin district in Jizzakh region.
A day later, on April 8, snowfall was also observed in the Kamchik pass, requiring additional caution for drivers and passengers. Although such weather changes have surprised many, experts consider this situation to be a natural process.
Climatologist Erkin Abdulakhatov noted that even in the middle of spring, the air temperature in mountainous regions can drop, even to negative values. Therefore, snowfall in such places is considered normal.
At the same time, it is not without reason that Uzhydromet issued a warning about the risk of mudslides and floods in the mountainous regions of Kashkadarya and Jizzakh regions on April 7-9. Experts urge the population to be careful, especially when moving in mountainous areas, to follow safety measures.
In short, spring has once again shown its "character" - while flowers are blooming in the lowlands, winter has not yet fully retreated in the mountains.
