Children electrocuted after climbing on top of wagon in Chirchiq

A dangerous incident in the city of Chirchiq, Tashkent Region, has once again served as a reminder for public vigilance. On April 27, two minors were electrocuted by high-voltage power lines after climbing onto a freight train wagon at a railway station.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the Nurhayot—Qodiriya section of the Chirchiq railway station. The school-aged children, born in 2011 and 2014, received a powerful electric shock while climbing on top of stationary freight wagons.
Following the incident, the victims were immediately rushed to the hospital. They were admitted to the intensive care unit of the 16th branch of the Republican Research Center for Emergency Medicine in Tashkent. According to medical staff, the children's condition is assessed as moderately severe, and they are currently receiving all necessary medical care.
Medical reports indicate that the victims sustained second and third-degree burns covering 25–30 percent of their bodies.
At present, authorities responsible for ensuring safety in railway transport are conducting an investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that similar incidents have occurred previously. On April 1 of this year, a 17-year-old teenager in Chirchiq also sustained severe injuries after being electrocuted while climbing on top of a train wagon. At that time, it was reported that 80–85 percent of his body had suffered burns.
Experts are once again reminding the public of the necessity to strictly adhere to safety regulations in and around railway areas.
