Driver who blocked mother and child in Chirchiq receives strict penalty

A driver who blocked the path of a mother and child walking on a pedestrian crossing in the city of Chirchiq has faced strict measures. According to the court ruling, he has been deprived of his driving license for one year.

Earlier, a video showing the traffic violation by a Cobalt driver went viral on social media, sparking widespread public outrage. The footage shows the driver moving through a pedestrian walkway and intentionally blocking the path of a mother and child walking there.

According to the Tashkent Regional Traffic Safety Department, the driver was identified, and an administrative report was filed against him for "road hooliganism." The collected materials were subsequently submitted to the court.

During the trial, the driver's actions were deemed a violation of the law, and he was sentenced to a one-year suspension of his driving privileges. Additionally, the driver was ordered to pay a fine of 10 times the base calculation amount, totaling 4 million 120 thousand soums.

The Traffic Safety Department press service urged all drivers to treat pedestrians with respect and requested that they refrain from driving vehicles on pedestrian walkways.
