Uzbekistan extended a hand of brotherhood to Afghanistan in its time of need

Your neighbor's peace is your peace, and your neighbor's joys and concerns are always your concern. Such noble and tolerant qualities inherent in our people were once again reflected in another charitable act. The people of Uzbekistan did not leave their co-religionist and ethnic brothers in Afghanistan alone.
From our country, almost 200 tons of essential food products, the latest large humanitarian aid convoy successfully reached the Balkh province of the neighboring country.
A worthy gift for the Eid holiday
This selfless aid was not sent without reason. It was organized on the eve of the holy Eid al-Adha holiday and to support the population severely affected by recent strong floods and flash floods in Afghanistan. This is a symbol of the high respect and humanity of our President and the Uzbek people toward the neighboring country.
The charitable cargo was solemnly received in the city of Hairatan, located on the border of the two countries. The event was attended by:
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev;
Governor of Surkhandarya region Ulugbek Kasimov;
Deputy Governor of Balkh province Nurulhadi Abu Idris and other official representatives of both countries.
What is in the aid convoy?
This food reserve, sent to meet the daily needs of the affected population, consists of the highest quality products. The trucks include the most essential items: flour, rice, sugar, pasta and sweets, vegetable oil, chickpeas, and instant meals These products will undoubtedly bring joy to the tables of hundreds of families who are currently homeless and in difficult conditions.
Heartfelt gratitude
At the handover ceremony, Afghan officials expressed their infinite gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and the generous people who were among the first to rush to help in these difficult times. They also sincerely congratulated all Uzbeks on the upcoming great holiday — Eid al-Adha, and wished our country peace, prosperity, and blessings.
Such good deeds prove once again that the centuries-old bonds of friendship and good neighborliness between the two peoples will never be broken.
