The Presidential Olympiad will be organized in Uzbekistan

At a videoconference meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was announced that the Presidential Olympiad will be organized in Uzbekistan.

It is said that the “Olympic Peaks of New Uzbekistan” competitions in Olympic sports will be held twice a year in the regions. The winners of the districts and regions will be encouraged by the governors.

The winners of the regional stage will participate in the Presidential Olympiad, which will be held annually in the Olympic Village on December 10-20. The winners of the competition will be awarded with valuable prizes such as houses and cars.

The athletes who took first and second place will be accepted to the Republican Olympic and Paralympic Center. In this case, scholarships will be paid to 1st-2nd year students.

The goal is to include Uzbekistan in the top ten at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

“Sport is, first of all, an ambassador of peace, a source of national pride for every country,” the president emphasized.

As noted at the meeting, over the past four years, the budget allocated to sports has increased from 1.5 trillion soums to 3 trillion soums, the average salary of coaches has doubled, 101 major sports facilities have been newly built, and 67 have been reconstructed.
