How did CSKA and Fayzullaev respond to the interest from Europe?
Since Uzbek national team striker Abbasbek Fayzullaev moved from Pakhtakor to CSKA Moscow in August 2023 and has been showing a bright game on Russian fields, our legionnaire has been watched by a number of European clubs.

In particular, several sources have recently reported that the current champion and most powerful club in Turkey, Galatasaray, is seriously interested in the 21-year-old Uzbek player.

- The Turkish Super League giant Galatasaray is seriously interested in CSKA striker Abbasbek Fayzullaev.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for both CSKA and the Uzbekistan national team this season. In December 2024, Abbas was named the Asian Young Player of the Year. His contract with CSKA expires in June 2026.

This information was confirmed by a source close to the situation, Markaj News reported.

Several experts who analyzed the news expressed their opinion that the Turkish super club is planning to bring Fayzullaev to replace one of the team's aging stars, Belgian Dries Mertens.

As it turned out, the current contract of 36-year-old Dries Mertens expires on June 30, and Galatasaray intends not to extend the cooperation and to bring Abbasbek Fayzullaev, whose playing style is similar to his, instead of the Belgian player.

A few days after this information was released, CSKA management and Abbasbek Fayzullaev himself responded to questions about Galatasaray's interest.

- Abbas, how do you react to the news about Galatasaray?
- I don't want to talk about it. Because it's not the point. I have a contract with CSKA now, and talking about transfers would be disrespectful to the club. Right now, I'm focused on CSKA, - said Abbasbek Fayzullaev.

In turn, CSKA General Director Roman Babaev also commented on the news about Galatasaray's interest in the Uzbek player as follows.

- It's clear that, like you, I read on the Internet that Galatasaray is interested in Fayzullaev. There is no certainty, they have never contacted us. There were no applications for Fayzullaev during the winter transfer period, - said Roman Babaev.

Abbasbek Fayzullaev has played in sixty matches for CSKA in all competitions since the summer of 2023, scoring eight goals and providing 21 assists. His contract runs until the summer of 2026.

The 21-year-old forward is valued at €8 million by Transfermarkt. Fayzullaev is the second most valuable player in Central Asia after Abdukadir Khusanov.
