
Negotiations on the long-awaited fight between Uzbek professional boxing star Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Japanese boxing icon Naoya Inoue have been successfully concluded. The fight will take place on September 14 in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
Eddie Hearn, the head of the Matchroom boxing promotion company, posted a photo of himself with Akhmadaliev on his Instagram page and announced that the two boxers had reached an agreement.
“All negotiations have been concluded. Monster against the power of Uzbek boxing! It will be the most important and powerful fight in the division,” Eddie Hearn said.
For your information, Naoya Inoue will previously fight American Ramon Cardenas in Las Vegas on May 5. If the Japanese boxer wins this fight, he will defend his belt against Murodjon Akhmadaliev in September.
Former world champion in the featherweight category in professional boxing, 30-year-old Murodjon Akhmadaliev (12 wins, 1 loss, 9 knockouts) knocked out Mexican Ricardo Espinosa Franco in the third round in his last fight in December 2024. After that victory, the Uzbek athlete challenged Inoue to a fight.
In turn, 32-year-old Naoya Inoue (29 wins, 0 losses, 26 knockouts) is currently the absolute world champion in the super heavyweight category, having won world championships in four weight categories during his career.
