Murodjon Akhmadaliev sets big goals in a new weight class

Yesterday, our capital Tashkent hosted a major professional boxing event. In the main event, renowned Uzbek boxer and former super bantamweight world champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev stepped into the ring.
Our compatriot, known by the nickname "Kaka," faced Venezuelan Egli Mosqueda. The 10-round bout was held not in Murodjon's usual super bantamweight division, but in the featherweight class. Akhmadaliev passed this test convincingly, defeating his opponent via a fourth-round technical knockout.
After the fight, Murodjon emphasized that his goals remain unchanged. He stated that his primary intention is to secure world championship belts and participate in the biggest fights. The boxer noted that he feels comfortable at 55 kg, but is ready to compete for titles in the 57 kg division if a worthy opportunity arises.
"My goals haven't changed: world championship belts and the biggest fights. I feel comfortable at 55 kg. But if a worthy opportunity arises, I am ready to move up to the 57 kg division," said Akhmadaliev.
Murodjon did not hide that he is looking at the situation realistically. In his opinion, if Naoya Inoue remains in the super bantamweight division, it could take another two years to wait for the next big opportunity. Akhmadaliev does not want to wait that long and is ready to fight for championship belts in other weight classes.
At the same time, if Inoue moves up in weight and vacates the title, Murodjon intends to fight for that belt at 55 kg. This shows that he has a major plan in both directions.
For information, another Uzbek boxer, Otabek Kholmatov, is also considered one of the main contenders for the title in the featherweight division. Therefore, serious opportunities may open up for Uzbek boxers in this division.
In short, Murodjon Akhmadaliev started his fight in the new weight class with a convincing victory. His path is clear: big belts, big opponents, and the big stage. "Kaka" is not in waiting mode — he has already begun his pursuit of championships.
