Maksim Shatskikh: "At 'Andijan', we will aim to play attacking football that pleases the fans."
Yesterday, "Andijan" officially introduced Maksim Shatskikh as the club’s new head coach. From today onwards, the team has fully started training under the guidance of the new coach.

In an interview with the club's press service, Maksim Shatskikh shared his reasons for accepting the "Andijan" club’s offer, his preferred playing style, and his plans ahead of the AFC Champions League 2 tournament.

“When the management of the 'Andijan' club approached me with their offer, I didn't hesitate long, since I was already well-acquainted with the club’s infrastructure. Additionally, knowing how sincerely and passionately the fans support the team further encouraged me to quickly accept this opportunity. Every game sees the stadium packed with supporters, and I consider this one of the most important aspects for football. After all, football is primarily played for the fans.

This is a new challenge for me and my coaching staff. We will work diligently to justify the trust placed in us and to fulfill the responsibilities assigned. Our primary goal is to achieve maximum results that will satisfy the fans. However, to instill our football philosophy within the team will require some time. Only then can we achieve the desired style of play. Ultimately, we will certainly see the fruits of our labor. Under any circumstances, our team will strive to display attacking football that will delight our fans.

At this moment, it’s too early to speak about the AFC Champions League 2, as the tournament only starts in September. Currently, we are focusing our full attention on matches within the Uzbekistan Championship. Naturally, our preparation for the international tournament will happen through these very matches.

I watched the last two games from the stadium stands and saw for myself that we have players of high quality. Undoubtedly, during the summer transfer window, we will work on strengthening the squad. However, first, we must thoroughly evaluate the potential of our current team and successfully complete the first half of the championship. Afterward, we’ll determine which positions need strengthening before the international tournament, as the AFC Champions League level is significantly higher than that of the national championship. Hence, this summer we will definitely reinforce our squad with new players,” Maksim Shatskikh stated in an interview with the club's press service.
