Thailand Tournament: Shodiyorjon Melikuziev wins and reaches the semifinals!

As you know, these days — more precisely, from May 24 to June 1 — a prestigious international boxing tournament is being held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. In this tournament, the most skilled boxers from various corners of the world are competing for the championship.

The unique aspect of today is that the quarterfinal matches are continuing intensively. In these matches, Uzbek boxers are also striving with determination to win and advance to the semifinals.

In the -50 kg weight category, it is necessary to especially highlight the fight of our talented leather glove master, Shodiyorjon Melikuziev, who is defending the honor of our homeland. The confrontation with India’s representative Kongkam Singh was extremely intense in every aspect and amazed the spectators with its intensity.

In the first round, both boxers moved cautiously, carefully observing each other’s strength and capabilities. With his quick movements and precise punches, Shodiyorjon managed to gain a slight advantage in the first round.

The second round was significantly more intense. Kongkam Singh from India acted decisively to avoid falling behind in points, but the Uzbek boxer demonstrated his high-level technical abilities both in attack and defense. The third round, being the decisive phase, was very heated and extremely intense. Both leather glove masters used all their possibilities to achieve victory. However, the Uzbek boxer performed better in all aspects and was declared the winner by unanimous decision of the judges.

Thus, Shodiyorjon Melikuziev secured a ticket to the semifinals and guaranteed at least a bronze medal in his name. Of course, this is not his only goal. Our compatriot aims to win in the upcoming fight as well and conquer the highest peak of the competition.

It is worth noting that ahead is another fight involving one of our leather glove masters — the talented Sayat Ilyasov, who will face a strong opponent from the hosts — Pidnuch Hunathip. This fight is also being eagerly anticipated and is causing much discussion among boxing fans.
