The famous Italian club "Roma" has officially introduced its new head coach. Gian Piero Gasperini has signed a contract with the club until 2028. This appointment could open a new chapter in the club's history.
The 67-year-old specialist spent the previous 9 years at "Atalanta", leading the team to new heights. Under his leadership, the Bergamo team strengthened its place in European football and won the Europa League in 2024. This once again proved that Gasperini is a high-level coach.
"Roma" spent the past season with various twists and turns. Croatian specialist Ivan Juric, who started the season, was dismissed after failing to deliver the expected results for the club. He was replaced by 73-year-old experienced specialist Claudio Ranieri, who led the team to Europe - "Roma" finished the season in 5th place and qualified for the Europa League. After the tournament, Ranieri officially ended his coaching career.
Now it's Gasperini's turn. His tactical views and new approach to football are expected to create a new style and spirit in Roma.
Currently, the club also has Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov. He has been a member of the team since 2021. Last season, he played in 27 games and scored 4 goals. There is hope that Eldor's place and opportunities on the field will expand even further under the new coach.
A new page has begun for Roma - and fans are expecting strong impressions from the new era. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
