One of the major clubs in Saudi Arabia — “Al-Nassr” — has begun a serious search for the head coach position. Having finished this season in third place in the national championship, the team wants to aim for even higher goals with a new leader.
Previously, it was reported that the club’s management officially approached Luciano Spalletti, the specialist who recently left the Italian national team, with an offer. He was offered a three-year contract with a salary of 18 million euros per season. However, the experienced Italian declined this offer. Because of this, Al-Nassr’s plans changed somewhat.
Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club’s main focus is on Portuguese specialist Sérgio Conceição. The 50-year-old coach reportedly managed “Milan” for half a year last season and is open to new challenges.
Conceição’s successful history with “Porto” and his rich experience in Europe attract the interest of Al-Nassr’s management. It is emphasized that he has the potential to take the team to a high level. Currently, negotiations have begun between the club and the specialist, and a decision is expected in the coming days.
