How did CSKA's new head coach rate Abbosbek Fayzullaev?
The 2025/26 season is considered very important for Abbosbek Fayzullaev. He is not only one of the main players in our national team but also a key figure in CSKA's squad.

According to sports.ru, Fayzullaev is expected to carry a major responsibility for Uzbekistan's national team at the World Cup, which will be hosted next year in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Therefore, having consistent playing time at the club level, maintaining fitness, and sharpening his skills are crucial for both his personal and national success.

Meanwhile, a surprising change occurred at CSKA: Serbian coach Marko Nikolić, who led the team to the Cup and bronze in the league, has moved to another club. He was replaced by experienced Swiss coach Fabio Celestini.

Speaking about training camps, Celestini specifically mentioned Fayzullaev as one of the team leaders. He noted that in the early days, Abbos, along with Oblyakov, Krugovoy, and other key players, was absent, but individual preparation had already begun.

– We need to wait until the whole squad gathers at the camp. In the first days, we had to work without several important players – Ivan Oblyakov, Danil Krugovoy, Seiku Koita, and Abbosbek Fayzullaev.

We’ve just arrived at the club, and the players are just coming off vacation, so the initial sessions will be lighter, with a focus on functional training, – said Fabio Celestini.

The new coach is paying great attention to his coaching staff. He mentioned that José Blesa, a top nutritionist who worked with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, is part of the team, along with fitness coach Javier Noya (formerly with Spartak and Rubin) and the experienced Manel Expósito. Long-time staff members Aleksei Berezutskiy, Dmitriy Kramarenko, and Igor Aksenov have also remained.

Abbos made a strong impression in his first season at CSKA. He played 71 matches in the Russian Premier League and Cup, scored 8 goals, and provided 22 assists. These results strengthened the club management’s trust in him.

Although Fayzullaev’s contract runs until summer 2026, reports suggest that he has attracted interest from England’s Wolverhampton and Turkey’s Basaksehir.

With a new coach and shifting team strategy, fans expect Abbos to shine even brighter in the upcoming season — both for club and country.
