The ongoing Universiade in Germany (a major international sports event among students) continues to be successful for the Uzbekistan delegation. In swimming, representing our country’s flag, Eldorbek Usmonov won his second medal in the competition and once again delighted our nation in the butterfly sprint distance.
100m butterfly final: bronze podium
Having qualified for the final, Eldorbek finished third in the decisive swim and was awarded the bronze medal. In an intense race, he covered the first 50 meters at high speed, and despite increased competition in the decisive return, managed to secure a place on the podium. Teammates and coaches highly praised his performance.
Eldorbek’s second medal – a sign of consistency
Usmonov had previously reached the podium at this Universiade (this is his second medal at this dream forum), which indicates his consistent form throughout the championship. Our compatriot grew through the group stages, qualifications, and semifinals, and managed to finish the final with a medal.
