With the start of the new Russian Premier League season, Moscow’s “Dynamo” club has also entered the list of main contenders for the championship and the national cup. These changes became even more significant after Russia’s national team coach Valery Karpin was appointed as the club’s head coach.
Recently, the Moscow side bought Kazakhstan national team leader Bakhtiyor Zaynutdinov from Turkey’s “Besiktas” for 2.8 million euros. According to local media, this transfer is expected to bring new strength and experience to the club.
At the same time, Russian journalist Dmitry Egorov drew attention to the fact that Valery Karpin is gathering his former “Rostov” pupils in his new team. Currently, “Dynamo” includes Dmitry Skopintsev, Danil Glebov, and Maksim Osipenko, who all previously played under Karpin at “Rostov”. That is, “Dynamo” is gradually turning into a squad with the old “Rostov” experience.
Journalist Egorov jokingly noted that only Eldor Shomurodov is missing for the full roster to be complete. In his words: “Zaynutdinov also joined Dynamo. Those who played under Karpin at Rostov are coming together, now only Eldor Shomurodov remains — and that’s it, the squad will be complete.”
For reference, Eldor Shomurodov started his career in Uzbekistan at “Mash’al” and “Bunyodkor”, then made a name for himself in the Russian Premier League at “Rostov” under Valery Karpin’s leadership. Currently, our talented striker has become the record holder among Uzbek footballers for matches played and goals scored in Europe’s top 5 leagues. His scoring feats at “Genoa”, “Spezia”, “Cagliari”, and “Roma” took him to an even higher level.
From the new season, Eldor Shomurodov will continue his career in Turkey’s “Istanbul Basaksehir”. Fans, meanwhile, are following with great interest his new journey, the results Karpin can achieve at “Dynamo”, and what changes will take place in a team being rebuilt with the “Rostov spirit”.
