22-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sheshko is reportedly close to joining Newcastle United this summer. Talks between the clubs have nearly concluded, with the move linked to Alexander Isak’s potential exit from RB Leipzig.
In a recent interview, Sheshko spoke about comparisons being made between him and Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
“Such comparisons inspire me. They don’t pressure me at all. In fact, they push me to keep improving. My teammates say I resemble Haaland, especially in terms of speed and aerial play. Some even think I’m better than him,” said the young forward.
Last season, Sheshko appeared in 45 matches, scoring 21 goals and providing 6 assists. His current contract with Leipzig runs until the summer of 2029.
