Sergey Lushchan: On Problems at "Navbahor" and New Directions

After the match of the 17th round of the Uzbekistan Super League between "Navbahor" and "Sogdiana" (1:1), the team’s head coach Sergey Lushchan spoke with journalists, reports championat.asia. The coach spoke in detail about the current situation of the team, functional problems, and new footballers.

According to Lushchan, this match was quite tough for the team. Especially, they couldn’t achieve their goal in attack. “Honestly, we need to analyze what this is connected with. The opponent also couldn’t create many chances. We witnessed a clash of equal teams. There were a lot of duels, maybe the condition of the pitch affected the result. Anyway, I thanked all the players,” said the coach.

Some changes in the lineup and the substitution of players, in his opinion, are directly related to not participating in training. “For example, Jiyanov and Mirsaidov hardly participated in the main camp, they rested for a whole month. That’s why now 7-8 players in the lineup took the field without fully training. For that reason, I’m even happy with the draw. To understand the real situation in the team, you need to be inside,” he said.

According to the specialist, the fact that "Navbahor" hasn’t won in the last three games is due to the team’s functional state. At the end of the first round, unexpectedly, young players were added to the lineup because there were no more players left in reserve. “The young ones are trying, we are working according to the plan. Of course, there are many advisers, but I stick only to my own style,” explained Lushchan.

The coach also spoke about the fans and performance. “During the game, my focus is only on the field and the actions of the players. Sometimes they shout, but I don’t pay attention, sometimes I don’t even understand. Fan culture should be to always support the team, in victory and in defeat. Applauding when you win and swearing when you lose is not the job of a fan club. This is completely contrary to the culture of fandom,” he said.

He noted that he fully trusts the new players and that they just need a little time: “They have been with our team for 10 days, soon they will show themselves.”

About the players who left the team, he said: “There were those who left on loan, and we ourselves let them go. Someone was offered a salary 200 times higher, so he left. This is normal. If there is a good offer, the player leaves.”

On August 25, they will again play against "Sogdiana", 20 players will remain on the roster, but what kind of game it will be — time will tell.

The situation at "Navbahor" is a lesson for all fans: right now the team is being rebuilt, and the coach, remaining true to his style, is fighting for results. Everyone is interested in what the results will be in the new season.
