Is Mancini’s new destination «Spartak»? The big intrigue in Moscow has intensified

The Italian specialist Roberto Mancini may continue his activity in the Russian championship. Information that the 60-year-old coach may start work at Moscow’s club «Spartak» is being widely discussed — that is, already at the beginning of the season on the Moscow side serious decisions regarding personnel are seen as being awaited.

As is known, the Muscovites collected only 4 points in the first four rounds of the RPL. For that reason, reports had been circulated about the presence of an intention to part with the team’s current head coach Dejan Stanković. Thus, the club management is focusing on an experienced strategist in order to quickly improve the results, employ the squad resource more correctly and turn the situation around in the league table.

Mancini’s last workplace is considered to be the national team of Saudi Arabia. He has officially been without a job since last autumn — and this keeps open his options regarding joining a new project. First of all, the skills of working under high pressure, making decisions in the competitive environment of top divisions and rebuilding the architecture of the team may be exactly what «Spartak» needs.

From Zamin.uz’s point of view, the intrigue in Moscow is intensifying due to several factors: the pressure of results, the demanding mood of the team’s supporters and the maneuvers in the transfer window. If the management of «Spartak» gives the go-ahead to the Mancini project, a new dramaturgy will appear on the competition map of the RPL; otherwise, the club will rely on internal resources and remain loyal to the existing road map. In both scenarios one question stands at the center of attention: by which path will the Moscow club return to the top steps and delight its fans?
