The new La Liga season started as expected – exciting and full of various events. In the first round, Hans-Dieter Flick’s “Barcelona” played away against “Mallorca” and confidently won 0:3.

However, contrary to expectations, this big victory did not fully satisfy Barcelona’s head coach Hansi Flick. According to him, the team did not fully show its capabilities during the game:
— I didn’t like the match, — said Flick. — After we were leading 2:0, the players started playing at only 50% of their strength, although they could have done much more. The team needs to control the ball, control the game entirely, and convert chances into goals. That’s my main criticism. Playing at half-strength against nine players is absolutely unacceptable.
These words of Flick, of course, mean that discipline and demands in “Barcelona” will become even stronger. Despite the victory, the German coach sees shortcomings in the team’s play. This undoubtedly shows that big tasks and serious goals still lie ahead of the club.
In conclusion, “Barcelona” started La Liga with a confident win, but Flick’s critical remarks will serve as an important step towards lifting the team to an even higher level.
