Uzbekistan sports leaders attended Manchester City training session

These days, the leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and several officials of sports organizations are on a visit to the city of Manchester, England.

According to the information, the First Deputy Chairman of the NOC of Uzbekistan Otabek Umarov, the Secretary General of the committee Oybek Kasimov, as well as the head of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation Azizjon Kamilov and the First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Ermatov, became guests of the famous Manchester City club during the visit. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom Ravshan Usmonov also took part in the event.

During the training session led by Pep Guardiola, the guests had the opportunity to get closely acquainted with the club’s training system, infrastructure, and methods of working with young players. This meeting carries special significance since the young Uzbek defender Abduqodir Husonov currently plays for Manchester City. His participation in the squad is considered a major step forward for Uzbek football.

In addition, earlier reports stated that the company that includes Manchester City is considering the possibility of purchasing a football club in Uzbekistan. In this regard, the visit and meetings may open a new stage of bilateral cooperation.

Experts note that if such a project is implemented, it could become a key factor in developing Uzbek football infrastructure, youth development systems, and moving closer to modern sports standards.
